Thank you for visiting our new Internet site. We are a non-profit organization that hold Lawn Mower Races to raise money for various local charities. None of our drivers or volunteers are paid anything back in prize money or for working. We do it all for the love of putting on a great show for our spectators and raising as much money as we can for the Charities.
During the winter of 2001, people found a unique way to have fun and raise money for charity at the same time. Lawn Mower Racing was born in Maple Rapids. From 2002 - 2004 all the money raised was donated to the American Diabetes Association.
In 2005 a group of racers and their families chose to form the Maple Rapids “Grass Kickers” to continue this fine tradition. We were able to lease 5 acres of land and build the Maple Rapids "Mower" Speedway. From 2005 to Current Date the group has chosen to donate to a variety of charities, many of which are in our own backyard.
To date our group has raised and donated over $35,000 to various local charities from 2005-2009.
I hope that you find this site useful, please send me any feedback or suggestions.

The entire Maple Rapids Grasskickers Group would like to thank all of our loyal spectators who attend our races. Without you we would not be able to raise all of the money that we do for the local charities. Please know that you are a very big part of our organization too.
We would also like to thank our volunteers who donate so much time and energy to keep our group going:
Grounds and Track Upkeep: Bob Johnson & Sons, Mark Boman and Marlene Stewart
Announcer: Tim Maier
Flag Men: Denny Lambert & Mitch Andrews
Gate Workers: Tamie Parks & Renee Cain
ALL OF THE DRIVERS AND PIT CREWS who constantly are working on their machines to make the race and make our show even better.
